Siemens AGSiemens — The company's brand name is Siemens, the "AG" just means that it is a publicly listed company, and shouldn't be part of the article's name — Axt (talk) 10:41, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

Any additional comments:

I believe the AG is there because at various times, Siemens was a disambiguation page and the company needed a disambiguating term. AG is as good as any. I would recommend having something like "(conglomerate)" or "(company)" or "AG" to allow links to the company to be kept "straight" should the change be made again. I don't think it's necessary to have a disambiguator. Siemens currently redirects here, so it's currently considered primary usage, and the page should be titled simply "Siemens". In future, if and when this is changed, e.g. the disambiguation page wants to be moved to Siemens, then we can add the disambiguator (like "(company)") to the title. 128.232.100.142 (talk) 16:53, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
