Remove the word yogi from this article. If Swaminarayan was God, then he should get at least that much respect

[edit]

People who have not read the scriptures of the Swaminarayan Sampradaya have no right to edit this page. In none of the scriptures of the Swaminarayan sect, he is called only a yogi. They are God. So he was proficient in yogic action. I have nothing more to say but just remove the word Yogi from the article. And at least use the word God. If you see references to him being God I will give them. But please don't insult our Lord like this. Don't edit the page if you don't know about our sect. It hurts our feelings ભાવિક (talk) 05:18, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Remove Yogi Word

[edit]

i am firm believer of lord shree swaminarayan. You need to remove word yogi and replace it with God. Do not play with emotions of devotees. There are crores of devotees who believe he is the supreme lord. This is insult of my beloved lord shree Swaminarayan. Juhi2511 (talk) 09:16, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Replace the infobox image with BAPS Robbinsville Mandir - Murti 2.jpg, its more in detail. 23.127.139.201 (talk) 02:18, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Here is a link the image requested: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:BAPS_Robbinsville_Mandir_-_Murti_2.jpg. There is no description provided for it on its wikimedia page, but the page where it is used on English Wikipedia indicates it is from a location in the United States. I think the one used in the infobox is a better fit as the lead image for this page. (But, of course anyone with autoconfirmed status who disagrees with me is of course free to continue the discussion here, or WP:BOLDLY change the image themselves.) -- Pinchme123 (talk) 01:23, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I think the image shown should not be used due to the ambiguity or difficulty one may have locating Swaminarayan in the image. It should be cropped (if possible) and then used. The image currently depicted is not of great quality and does not heed to the traditional art styles used to depict Swaminarayan traditionally in the Indian arts. I thus believe is may be beneficial to replace it.

add Father's genuine name: Hariprasad Pande and Mother's genuine name: Premvati Pande in info box with title "Personal" located below "Swaminarayan" and above "Religious career".

Also, please mention the referance link to the Bhashya on "Prasthantrayi" based on which he became GOD. RushikeshHindu (talk) 01:33, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lord Swaminarayan is not a manifestation of Krishna

[edit]

It is believed in the Swaminarayan Sampradaya (religion) that that Lord Swaminarayan is the manifestation of the supreme God himself, and he looks exactly the way he looks in his divine abode. it is not believed that He is an incarnation of Krishna. Although Krishna is revered in our religion, we do not believe him to be the Supreme God. So can you please research and change this.
