Forward Pass?

[edit]

It seems like this article and related pieces on the early history of football are deficient to the extent that they do not mention that the forward pass was not permitted in the game until after 1905 when after a spate of injuries and deaths on the field that resulted in calls for banning of the sport, President Theodore Roosevelt called a conclave of college officials at the White House to deal with this issue, a meeting that I as I recall from the Britannica article on this, included Camp and Yost. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.19.140.32 (talk) 17:48, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Player at Yale

[edit]

The Wiki article asserts that Camp played six seasons of college football at Yale from 1876 to 1882. I have now gone through the game accounts of the 1882 season and find no reference in those accounts to Camp being a player for the 1882 team. Does someone have a source showing Camp as a football player for Yale in 1882? If not, I will remove Camp from Template:1882 Yale Bulldogs football navbox. The Media Guide does show him as a player in 1882, so I'll restore him to the 1882 template. Cbl62 (talk) 19:51, 7 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
