Rotten eggs? No. Rotting cabbage. Re: Guinness Book of Records 2000. Isn't butanethiol worse?

Date

[edit]

It was discovered... when? This would be worthwhile to add. I'll see if I can dig it up on the net. Stovetopcookies 05:15, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not such a lazy gas

[edit]

It's not just a one-trick pony, eh? It's used in manufacturing. That's good.

Slang Nomenclature

[edit]

Ethanediol used to odorize LPG is often referred to by loading rack personnel as "stench." Example: "Make sure you put stench in this load." Or "Check to make sure the stench injector is turned on." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.132.134.2 (talk) 23:38, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How is it produced?

[edit]

How this product is produced?I don't know, but using H2C=CH2 ethylene and H2S - hydrogen sulfide, this terrible product perhaps, can be produced:

H2C=CH2 + H2S -------> H3C-CH2-SH (ethanoethiol) Agre22 (talk) 12:33, 19 July 2008 (UTC)agre22[reply]
