Hello,
RickK found this article interesting and suggested it on Template talk:Did you know, but it needs to be longer to be featured. Could you expand it? Mgm|(talk) 10:09, Mar 24, 2005 (UTC)

Moving pages

[edit]

I noticed you copied and pasted the content of David Gill to David Gill (executive). Please do not do this again, as copyright requires us to acknowledge the past contributors to every article, and the edit history is lost in a cut-and-paste move. There is a move function available, see WP:MOVE. If your account is too new to move a page, you can ask here. I have asked an administrator to repair your move here. Thank you, and happy editing! I didn't know about the move option - thanks for the info - will use next time. Before it is fixed though, I should point out that what I intended really is not a move but a fork. This is because the original edit to the "David Gill" page on or around the 3 February 2006 by "Consulrjo" overwrote the biography of a historical "David Gill" (I assume accidently) with that of another contemporary individual named "David Gill". Oh, I see. You are just fixing somebody else's mistake (and I didn't see that, I'm sorry). I would just have reverted to the old version, and told the author of the other version to just create a new article. Maybe you should clarify that here. Oh, and while I'm at it: the people from the disambiguation department prefer David Gill (disambiguation) to be a redirect to David Gill, not the other way around. (Wikipedia has too many rules and conventions). Happy editing again, Kusma (討論) 02:55, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:The entrance.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. nixie 07:24, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your article David Gill (executive) has appeared in the Dead End Pages list because it is not wikified. Please consult the Wikipedia Guide to Layout for more information on how to write a good, wikified article. I would encourage you to revisit your submissions and {{wikify}} them. Thanks and happy editing! James084 15:53, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
