Dutch Wikipedia symposium in Rotterdam (27/11/2004)

[edit]

Hi,

As a personal initiative I want to mention to you http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Symposium/Najaar_2004

There have been some voices that Dutch-speaking Belgian wikipedians might be underrepresented at that venue, so I took the liberty to post this message on the talk page of all people I found on Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Belgium.

If this doesn't apply to you (e.g. while French-speaking, or not interested in Dutch wikipedia,...) simply ignore this message.

Kaliningrad/Koenigsberg pics

[edit]

Dear Kneiphof, with reference to the stack of pics in WikiCommons, is "Koeningsburg" the correct name? If not, if it was meant to read "Königsberg", could you please correct the titles in WikiCommons and the several links, so that anyone searching for them using the correct – or more common? – spelling "Königsberg" can find them. Thank you! 00:00, 20 September 2005 (UTC)

Hi! Unfortunately, it isn't possible to change the name of files from WikiCommons. But I've put all the pictures of Koenigsberg/Kaliningrad on the page commons:Kaliningrad with Kaliningrad, Konigsberg, Königsberg and Koenigsberg redirecting to it, so I think it's now quite easy to find Koenigsberg/Kaliningrad pictures Kneiphof 15:35, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Belatedly – on a flying visit – trust your solution to work, hence: many thanks! 22:46, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

You are welcome :) Kneiphof 22:32, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for clarifying some of the ambiguities I introduced into that stub...I was exhausted when I started writing it. :-\ Tomertalk 23:02, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. This is how wiki works - someone will eventually correct all the mistakes... Kneiphof 12:30, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You have blocked me at Russian wikipedia

[edit]

At Russian wikipedia I write under "Моисей". I tried to edit one of the articles, but you have blocked me. If the reason is due to incompleteness of articles I wrote, I'm ready to improve it. If due to any other reason, I would like to know too. I would be glad to contribute to Russian wikipedia as far as I can. Sincerely Моисей

Dear Моисей, as you can see in block list, I've blocked nowbody since Ferbruary 12. Since you've edited articles after this date, it's quite obvious that I have not blocked you. Also, if you'll pay attention to block log you'll see for yourself that your account isn't blocked at all. Kneiphof 14:05, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I got this:

Your user name or IP address has been blocked by Kneiphof.
The reason given is this:

You may contact Kneiphof or one of the other administrators to discuss the block. Note that you may not use the "e-mail this user" feature unless you have a valid e-mail address registered in your user preferences. Your IP address is 85.65.204.17. Please include this address in any queries you make.

That's not nice. Actually, it seems like you blocked an enormous range of IPs. Please remove the block. conio.htalk 02:01, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This block was a result of massiave vandal attack (just chek the contributions of these IP's). I was even asked to block them. I'll deblock them now. It's pitty that good users got problems because of vandals. Kneiphof 09:33, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
