The 1779 cruise story is not entirely consistent with what's at USS Deane, needs further research. Stan 04:40 7 Jul 2003 (UTC)

This article says that John Jay was the first American Minister to Spain. This may be true -- does this mean Ambassador? According to John Jay, he was the President of the Continental Congress at this time. So the statement that he was the American Minsiter to Spain is in any event misleading. JJ was elected President of Congres in December 1778. He served in this capacity until he was appointed Minister Plenipotentiary to Spain in September 1779. See Walter Stahr's biography of Jay, chapter 5. 128.59.160.141 19:06, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MY Father was a model ship builder. He built the Confederacy. My Father, Thomas John Recker recently passed away, and we would like to donate the ship. We are hoping that we will get some response for the readers Luannmcdonnell (talk) 22:32, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Luannmcdonnell: Hi! Wikipedia isn't the best place for you to find a good home for the model. If you have any local museums or naval history groups then I would suggest trying them first. Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 20:03, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
